Dr. Jennifer Ma is excited to be joining the team at Tall Grass Animal Hospital.
Dr. Ma's fascination with animal care began in childhood, inspired by animal rescue shows and a home filled with pets ranging from rabbits and hamsters to dogs, fish, and turtles. Caring for her family's pets ignited her passion for veterinary medicine and, by the age of nine, she knew she wanted to become a veterinarian—a dream she is thrilled to live every day.
A California native, Dr. Ma earned her Bachelor's degree in Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior from UC Davis. She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2014 and practiced in California for the past eight years. Recently, Dr. Ma and her family relocated to Colorado, eagerly embracing their new adventure.
Dr. Ma values building strong relationships with her patients and their families. She finds great reward in helping sick pets recover and witnessing the deep bond between pets and their humans. Her professional interests include soft tissue surgery, dentistry, and preventive and geriatric care. She looks forward to meeting and taking care of your fur-family because she knows how important they are to you.
When out of the office, she runs a home circus with her husband and two young kids. Thankfully their first furbaby, a 10-year-old pit-bull mix named Nala, is a wonderful big sister! Dr. Ma also enjoys running, hiking, traveling, and arts and crafts.
